I've been enjoying androwish/undroidwish and your valuable support for quite some time now, and would like to buy you a case of beer (or retsina). That being impractical, is there a way to donate money to the project? I haven't found any relevant info in androwish.org. A PayPal account would be an easy way to do it. dzach chw added on 2019-12-02 14:42:41: Thank you very much, but may I ask you instead for the word to spread? Should I visit Greece for holiday (or should you visit Germany) and we meet we absolutely should have one or two or more ;-) EuroTcl next year would be a nice opportunity, BTW. anonymous added on 2019-12-02 20:22:16: It will be a pleasure to meet you in person here in Athens! You have my email in this post, drop me a line when you visit and we'll meet and have a good time. EuroTcl would be indeed a nice opportunity too, but at present seems less probable. Lately I've been reading Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars Trilogy, Red-Green-Blue Mars, a series of science fiction novels which are more political and pragmatic than many of the contemporary trends in actual politics (in the literary -ancient- meaning of the word "politics","πολιτική", i.e. the matters of the polis), where he deals with the human condition in the new world on Mars, and with various economies that emerge there, among which a gift economy, where the problem is not so much making a large profit out of a deal, but rather giving away too much for free, something called a "potlatch", I think. Just saying... :D Spread the word, I do! Cheers! dzach chw added on 2019-12-03 00:13:15: Dimitrios, thanks for the reading tip. I had to read more about 'potlatch', never heard/read this word before. And still am making business. Trying to take it like the sponsor of this website (nslookup androwish.org and sqlite.org) and see it as this essential sentence at the very beginning of his universally useful software: * May you share freely, never taking more than you give. anonymous added on 2019-12-04 14:10:11: A world of wonderful praxis. Thank you. Dimitrios john added on 2019-12-19 18:42:59: EuroTcl is a lot of fun, highly recommend you attend. anonymous added on 2020-07-20 14:15:58: Hey Chris, long time no see (talk). Any plans for a having a retsina together down here in the sunny south, while covid is still at bay? chw added on 2020-07-20 19:18:05: Dimitrios, EuroTcl 2020 was cancelled, but still spend I that week near Vienna for a industrial project with Tcl talking to SAP using tDOM. Meanwhile, Austria seems to be lock downing (down locking?) again, good for me being at home now. But honestly, when all this blues is over, your Retsina etc. offer is a great opportunity for a visit. Alcohol and other substances being a mighty instrument of creativity deserve to let us keep this ticket open :) All the best, Christian anonymous added on 2020-07-20 23:57:49: Hopefully things will straighten up sooner than later. Wise to leave this feature request ticket open, at least until implementation and thorow tasting. ---------------------------^ Cheers! Dimitrios anonymous added on 2020-07-21 12:18:21: Ha, ha! 'tasting' was intentional, but 'thorow' is the one that proves your point about creativity. anonymous added on 2021-01-01 12:33:35: This issue is still open but, hopefully, 2021 will see its resoluton. Best wishes for the new year! chw added on 2021-01-01 16:12:06: Thanks, best wishes to you, too. May 2021 a great year for grapes. |
